After you taste 150+ wines, how do you choose your favorites?

You hear us talking about trying 100s of wines and you might wonder how we stay organized and sober enough to methodically evaluate and choose our favorites. We swear… there is a method to the madness.

When we visit a winery we typically bring back samples of our favorite wines. We then blind taste the wines. This allows us to frankly ask ourselves, “Do I enjoy drinking this glass of wine?” without the influence of the visit, bottle or first impression hampering the decision.

We tried over 150 wines in Austria. We took back about 35 sample bottles. We then blind tasted them in groups based on style and price. In this video we try out 8 Austrian white wines that would be sold for $22. You also get to meet our new Italian friends, Antonella and Laura. Don’t worry, we don’t know what they are saying either.
